PAST PERFORMANCE: SALT LAKE 2002 WINTER OLYMPICS

In addition to Target's already massive undertaking in Salt Lake on behalf of our media and corporate clients, our responsibilities increased dramatically in the aftermath of September 11 when Target was faced with a most challenging assignment. The U.S. Secret Service, and nine other federal agencies that Target served, had to meet the expanded needs of increased anti-terrorism efforts surrounding the games.

Since accommodations near Olympic venues were scarce, one of Target's solutions was to persuade the developers of new apartments under construction to let Target be their first tenant (so no residents were displaced). We leased over 1,000 apartments, providing over 2,000 bedrooms for an average stay of 40 nights each. We furnished the apartments, installed cable, phones, other necessary equipment, and implemented a weekly maid service. Our clients were housed together, were comfortable and were close to the venues they needed to report to every day.
TESTIMONIAL
"In a joint effort with Target, we housed nearly 200 Secret Service agents during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, UT. Target made all the arrangements for furnishing 66 one-, two-, and three-bedroom units at our apartment complex… Target was great to work with. They were responsive and eager to support the needs of these important guests."
